September, 2 2017: Road free for the bicycle!
The Passo Stelvio Road closed to motor traffic. A very special occasion. The toughest and the most spectacular climbing is the one from Prato allo Stelvio with 48 hairpins.
From the green nature in the valley up into the ice and glacier region of the giants of the Ortles Range. Along a 27 kilometres stretch, cover a difference in altitude of 2,000 meters.
An invitation from the Stelvio National Park to all cyclists and lovers of dreamy Alpine roads. A chance to cycle through the full range of landscape and climatic types at the different levels of the National Parc.
A great adventure. A natural experience along this winding road. An abundance of marvellous views from high altitudes. Being there is everything!
Another hotspot is born! Up the Stelvio Road (I) to the Passo dello Stelvio, via the Umbrail (CH) back to South Tyrol.
Don't forget the passport!
