Ega valley in the Dolomites

Ega valley in South Tyrol with its sunny location and very charming villages Nova Ponente, Obereggen, Ega, Monte San Pietro, Nova Levante, Carezza and Collepietra is first all an El Dorado for hikers, in the middle of the Latemar and Catinaccio massive in the Dolomites.

The season starts mid May, when the enchanting flowers cover the mountain pasture grassland and the glowing Catinaccio and Latemar produce unique eye candy panoramas.

There are many hundreds of kilometres of well-marked trails and paths waiting to be discovered: from easy and moderately difficult hikes through blooming grassland, rich forests and green mountain pastures to demanding climbing tours.

Pietralba is the most important place of pilgrimage in South Tyrol. The 17th-century Baroque church of Pietralba rises majestically in the distance, nestling in between mountain meadows and forests.
