San Martino is located along the Passiria valley road (South Tyrol) and is located 15 km from Merano and 4 km from San Leonardo. The village is situated between the river Passirio and the Matatz slope and is the largest town in the valley. The hamlets Saltusio, Sorgente, Clava, Klon, Montaccio and Cresta belong to the municipality of San Martino.

San Martino is an ideal starting point for excursions to the surrounding mountains. Above San Martino is the Merano High Mountain Trail, a path that leads around the Tessa Group Nature Park. An easy and beautiful walk is the walk of 45 minutes to the romantic natural falls at Clava - Kalm (48 mt high, at the beginning of the Clava valley).
