Proculus Museum and St. Proculus Church in Naturno

Proculus Museum

The Proculus Museum opposite the church of St. Proculus is dedicated to the unique fresco within and also to the historical plague cemetery located outside the church. Find from the excavations bring history to life.

The underground tour takes visitors on a multimedia voyage through the past. Four installations present the Late Antiquity, Early Medieval, Gothic and Plague eras.

Church of St. Proculus

The little Church of St. Proculus nearby Naturno was built in the 7th century as a wooden church, and its interior contains the oldest fresco in the entire German-speaking area: a pre-Carolingian fresco dating from the 7th-8th century.

In the 12th century a Romanesque tower was added.
